New airs, new places.
Bogotá never ceases to amaze. Whether it is new places or old favorites that you just keep going back to, these unforgettable experiences are the order of the day. On this occasion, we’ve got four culinary recommendations that, we are sure, will captivate you as much they did us. There is something for everyone!
El Chino Dim Sum
The latest gastronomic adventure from chefs Isaac Monroy and Mar Díaz is located next to their first and successful restaurant, Amen Ramen. El Chino Dim Sum wants to reinvent traditional Chinese food using organic products from the Bogotá savannah and the Caribbean coast. If you are a fan of Asian food, push the boat out with the Siu Mai with shrimp encocado; the Xialongbaos, dumplings filled with jellied broth and meat or vegetables; the Palmitos XO and, the classic fried roast chicken.
The terrace is another of the attractions here. Come and enjoy the unique atmosphere with boogaloo and classic salsa rhythms, while you savor a couple of glasses from the wine list or the best signature cocktails.
This restaurant was opened on February 7 by a group of friends who could not explain why Bogotá did not have a classic New York-style pizzeria. After spending two years travelling to understand the secrets and everything else there is to know about New York-style pizza, Felipe López returned to Colombia. Here he joined up with other enthusiasts of the original American classic flavor and set up Pizza Paraíso.
If you are a fan of thin dough, here is a place that will take you to the paradise of fast food.
Discover a new food court concept in Parque de la 93. Salvio Gastronomía arrived in the capital with a strong offer of 16 restaurants, including familiar names like Cereal Hunters, D’Amici, Sipote, BBC and Home Burgers; temples of bread such as Le Pan Quotidien and Masa; and new gourmet proposals such as Italian restaurant Brera and KO Asian Kitchen.
Whatever the time of day, if you are walking through the sector or want to stop along the way, do not miss this gastronomic gallery where you can indulge your every whim in a modern and cozy space.
After years of offering a catering service, La Picadería has opened its own restaurant in a large country house on the outskirts of Bogotá. Come and enjoy a family Sunday lunch with a super selection of meats. Don’t miss the handmade chops, pork ribs in artisanal marinade and the top sirloin cap.
For vegetarians, there are some flavor-laden alternatives such as a mushroom salad and specialties such as corn arepa with traditional whey. Finish your meal with meringue made from amero powder, lulo, coconut foam and jasmine and a creative selection of Colombian flavors like gulupa, tamarind, passionfruit and ginger with honey.
The restaurant will soon be ready to offer a brunch and bar service so you can break your normal routine and do something different with family and friends.
