Happy birthday, Hard Rock!

In 1971, two music lovers from America opened a hamburger restaurant in London. They did it in a former Rolls Royce dealership in front of the celebrated Hyde Park and they called it Hard Rock Cafe.

Over the years, it became popular with well-known rock stars and artists. The first live show was Paul McCartney with The Wings in 1973 and the brand’s first item of memorabilia was a Fender guitar, given by Eric Clapton to mark the restaurant as his favorite place. Today, the franchise has the largest collection of memorabilia from new and legendary musicians around the world.

The first Hard Rock Café arrived in Colombia in 2001. On June 14 of this year, it joined the celebration of the brand’s 48th birthday and a tribute to the Rolling Stones and other rock classics.

Casa Santamaría celebrates its sixth anniversary

Casa Santamaría was founded in 2013 with a mission to contribute to the dreams of talented young Colombians. Six years later that intention has been fulfilled, as it has become a flagship and a mandatory stop for locals and foreigners, lovers of design, art and fashion alike. During these years it has worked with 35 emerging design brands, mostly Colombian women entrepreneurs such as Ana Laverde, Carolina Méndez, Daila Filigrana, De Irisarri, Diana Cepeda, Laura Metke, Leda, Folies, Valisse and Wash.

The Casa experience also includes art exhibitions, a special Colombian coffee bar and events that energize the city’s creative industry. The doors of Casa Santamaría , located in the city’s heart of design at the Calle de los Anticuarios, are open to you — offering an experience full of entrepreneurship, art, design and, of course, good Colombian coffee.
